What is a Toggle Light Switch?

What is a Toggle Light Switch?

A toggle light switch is a switch that has a lever that switches a circuit on and off. It is usually used in a lighting circuit.

The toggle switches are one of the original types of switches, but has largely been replaced by the more popular rocker switches over time. They have, however, seen a resurgence over time, and are now a popular choice, especially in more traditional designs.

The toggle light switches are also often called dolly switches. They are often made of metal, with a matching metal switch plate. Please be aware that if you do choose a metal switch or plate, you will have to ensure there is an earth point to connect to. The plates must be earth for safety.
