What is a screwless plate?

A standard plate is fixed to the wall with visible screws, usually at the top and bottom. A screwless plate uses a concealed fixing method instead, so no screws are visible on the front of the plate at all — just a clean, uninterrupted surface.

Which ranges are screwless?

Our Lexus range offers screwless fitting in brushed steel and antique brass. Our Retrotouch range offers screwless fitting in white and Brushed Bronze. Both are imported ranges, though they carry the same 10-year warranty as our British-made products.

Is a screwless plate harder to fit?

Screwless plates use a slightly different fixing mechanism, and depending on the range, they can require a marginally deeper back box — see our back box guide for exact depths. Fitting is still straightforward for a competent DIYer or electrician, just with a different method to a standard plate.

Is the extra cost worth it?
