The Retrotouch Friends of Hue switches can either be fitted to replace an existing light switch, or used as a wireless, battery-free solution, stuck on any wall, wherever’s most convenient for everyday use. The switches don’t need batteries or a power cable and they are as durable and reliable as a traditional wired switch.
Addressing the issue of Philips Hue lights being cut off from their smart functions if a light switch is manually flicked off, the Retrotouch Friends of Hue smart switches will work as normal light switches from the wall, but the lighting circuit will remain on so that Hue is always ready and working when you want it. This seamlessly delivers App, voice, motion sensor and HomeKit functionality, as well as manual control from the wall.
The Retrotouch Friends of Hue switches also have matching sockets and accessories to provide a coordinated look to any room. We have black or white options available and include double or single plug and USB sockets, TV and telephone sockets as we as smart button plate for the Hue Button.

When you come to purchase any of the Friends of Hue options, you will receive the following parts with your item:

Rather than having a 1 and 2 gang switch available, Retrotouch have included a 1 and 2 gang option for the plate you’re sent. Easy to place together and this also gives you the option to change it in the future, if needed.
Easy to install and certified by Philips as a seamless solution for Hue’s smart lighting, energy harvesting technology so no batteries or cables required. Turn on & off, set scenes and adjust your brightness settings using the smart switches, replace existing switches or stick anywhere with the provided adhesive mount. Choose between two buttons and one button layouts with the included plate options.
Please note: you will need a Hue bridge (v2) and bulbs. These are available to buy from other electrical retailers. You will also need to download the Hue App on your phone and configure the switch. Please see details below on how to do this: Configure Switches
- See the Philips Hue App on your phone
or tablet to set up your switch. - Open the Philips Hue App
- Click on ‘Settings’
- Select ‘Add Accessory’
- Select ‘Friends of Hue Switch’
- Pick Retrotouch Friends of Hue Switch
- Your switch will now be connected.
