Make Your Neighbours Green with Envy Created on February 9, 2017, Updated: February 9, 2017 by The Socket Store Team It is not only the colour of the moment, but green (or greenery to use the exact colour) is actually the official colour of the whole year! (according to Pantone at least). If you’ve not got green on your palette this year you’re not going to be one of the in-crowd! There is no getting away from green, but let’s be honest, why would you want to miss out? With bold greenery, colourful wallpaper and a decent splash of colour, it’s just what we needed to inject some energy into 2017. As usual we’ve clung on to the coat tails of those in the know, and pulled out some lighting and sockets that we think will hit the right tone in your new lush interior. Go Bold or Go Home We love the wallpaper in this living room, but as it’s so striking we would go equally bold. We’ve chosen the Polo six light pendant. Available in lots of different colours of silk, but we’ve gone for Citron here. It does come in Olive Green too. We’ve matched it with the Tuscan table lamp. Tall, thin and elegant – with a matching Citron shade of course! Green Sockets and Switches While we couldn’t quite match the Greenery shade, we do have a full range of green sockets and switches. These have always been popular in orangeries and conservatories, but we expect them to break into the warmth of the main house in 2017. Green Silk Shades We have a plethora of lamp shades available on our site, but we can’t help steering towards our silk lamp shades. All made to order and available in up to 12 different colours. Once again the olive green shade is in this photograph (along with a few others), but have a browse to see what other options we have got available. Changing your lamp shade can be a very cost-effective way of refreshing a light without the expense of getting an electrician in to fit a new light fitting. Get the Kids in on the Act Strictly speaking this isn’t a kids table lamp, but with its subtle pale shade of green we can’t help think of it on a children’s desk. It would also suit the pale tones of Scandi design, so we’ll let you fight over who gets in on their desk. It’s Not Just About the Greens Sometimes it’s as much about letting the other colours do the talking as it is about shouting from the rooftops (or ceiling rose). We think this Phillipa cream and chrome light pendant makes a fantastic centrepiece feature for a room. Despite it being a cream ceiling light it can still hold its own against the strong colours behind. We hope that’s given you some inspiration for one of the trends of the moment, why not tell us how you plan to make the most of the year of the greenery?
