About Socket Store

Why we started

When Socket Store launched in 2010, buying designer sockets and switches in the UK meant knowing the right trade contacts or accepting whatever white plastic was available at the local electrical merchant. A handful of specialist options existed, but finding them online — let alone comparing finishes, styles and functions in one place — was difficult for homeowners and designers alike.

We set out to fix that. Socket Store was founded to give everyone access to the kind of sockets and switches that were previously the preserve of high-end interior projects — quality metalwork, considered finishes, and fittings that complement a room rather than disappear into it.

More than fifteen years later, that's still what we do.

What we sell

We stock sockets and switches across more than 15 finishes — from polished brass, antique copper and rose gold through to matt black, sage green and rustic verdigris — with most finishes available across multiple plate styles including Victorian, Georgian, Contour, Spectrum and more.

Whether you're fitting out a period property, a contemporary new build or anything in between, the range is broad enough to find something that genuinely belongs in the room.

Made in Britain by G+H Electrical Accessories

The majority of our ranges are made in Britain by G+H Electrical Accessories, a manufacturer based in Worcester. Every plate is hand-finished using real metals — brass, copper and steel — worked and finished by skilled hands, not automated lines. It's the kind of manufacturing that produces fittings with genuine weight and character.

We also carry a selection of quality imported ranges for those looking for more accessible price points. Every plate we sell, regardless of origin, carries a 10-year warranty.

How we work

We're a small, knowledgeable team based in the UK. Most queries — whether about which finish suits a particular room, which switch type you need, or a straightforward order question — can be answered quickly. We'd rather you got in touch online than waited for a phone line, so email and our contact form are the best routes to us.

We offer free delivery on orders over £40 to mainland UK addresses, and a 60-day no-quibble returns policy on all unused items.
